My Approach
Therapy is an opportunity to address problems we want to change, gain insights into our concerns, and develop new ways of being. Like a rowboat in the waters of suffering and ambiguity, my relationship with my client undergoes the currents of exploration and meaning-making. I am honored to be alongside you, lending support and feedback as you discover your own path toward the shore.
My approach to therapy is best described as integrative with a strong grounding in relational, somatic, and multicultural principles. My practice is trauma-informed and emotion-centered. In individual work, I predominantly use Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) as a level-III AEDP therapist. I also draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to co-construct effective strategies for everyday life beyond the therapy room. My practice has been also informed and influenced by Attachment-Focused EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and drama therapy. I strive to provide clients with a safe (and brave) space to increase awareness, make meaning of the experience, and begin to cope and overcome life's difficulties.
My style in sessions has been described as responsive, interactive, and collaborative as well as culturally sensitive. I recognize how structural oppression affects us on many levels, such as neurological, physical, emotional, psychological, relational, and community levels. It is important to acknowledge the sociocultural context in our therapy work.

Starting Psychotherapy
The relationship with the therapist is the most important factor of a positive outcome in therapy. An initial phone consult will help me understand your needs and expectations and how we may work together to achieve your goals. I appreciate your courage to reach out and make a difference.
Fees & Policies
My fee is $300 for a 50-minute psychotherapy session. I am willing to offer a sliding scale fee under financial hardship. I primarily accept credit cards, HSA, and FSA. All sessions are conducted via telehealth now.
I have a 24- hour cancellation policy. Your fee for a session that is canceled without adequate notice or for a missed session will be equivalent to the fee that we have established.
While I am not on any insurance panels, I am happy to provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Most out-of-network insurance companies will cover a percentage of your private therapy fees. Please check with your insurance company to figure out the coverage.
